When you’ve received a traffic ticket, it’s important to pay it quickly so you don’t get other fees or, worse, lose your license. Use these steps to pay your fine quickly and easily.
There will be information you’ll need that’s on your ticket so make sure to have it handy before you start.
All traffic tickets are paid through and to the Iowa Courts website. If you recently got a ticket, it may not show up right away. It could take 2-3 weeks to be listed.
Pay Your Fine
Go to the Iowa Courts website and select “Pay Fines Online.”
In the “Case Type” dropdown, select “Traffic Ticket.”
In the “County” dropdown, choose the County where you got the ticket - check your ticket to see what is listed.
To find your ticket by Name or Case Number:
Name: Check your ticket to see how your name is spelled. As long as you have the first two letters, you should be able to find your ticket (if it’s in the online system).
Case Number: To find your ticket with the Case Number, click the box next to the “I’m not a robot” before you click the “Search for matching cases” button.
Click on the Case ID number from the list and follow the directions to pay your fine.
