Madurai Kamaraj University regular students will get their certificates at their doorsteps within ten days. After the new V-C M Krishnan assumes his office, he ordered the officials to make all the process in the university through online wherever if possible. Also, he ordered the officials to ensure transparent processes and to not take a long time to issue the certificates to the students. Hence, the controller of examination officials planned to issue certificates online.
Under this process students need not come to the MKU in person, they can apply online along with the required payment. Once they submitted the application, they will receive an SMS on their mobile number. After the certificate is ready, the students need not come to the university in person, it will despatch to their house address and the despatch details will be communicated to the students through SMS.
The Controller of Examinations O Ravi said, "As the part of digitisation and ensuring the transparency, employees in our section updating the students' records in NAD and examiner proforma also through online. Now, MKU's Electronic Data Processing will be online within ten days of time. Hence, the students from regular course and Directorate of Distance Education(DDE) can apply the certificates of provisional, convocation, eligible certificate and migration certificate through online and the certificates will be sent through post at their doorsteps maximum of a week.
"Usually, the students would apply the MKU in person or person along with the payment. It goes to the postal section directly and the controller of examination section will get the application after one month from the date of application. People are alleging that MKU officials are getting bribe to issue the certificates and also students facing lot of constrains to obtain the certificates. I think obtaining certificates online will be the solution for all these problems and moreover, it reducing the manual work at larger level and there is no possibility of missing of documents, DDs etc," he added.
